THE HISTORY OF AWESOME

The 'Awesome' word dates back to days of The Holy Bible!

Ex: The Old Testament (shown as 'Yare' in Hebrew) and,

It's still used to describe "Our Great & Awesome God!"

In the 16th century, awesome meant 'filled in awe' & 'awe inspired.'

In the 17th century, it meant being more 'shocking awe' or 'dread.'

In the 20th century, it changed to be 'greatness & 'exceptional!

In the 60's & 70's, things were gettin more 'Groovy & Far Out'

but many of us 'baby boomers' were kinda "diggin that too!" 

In the 80s the word 'awesome' (unlike groovy and far out), 

was making a real nice comeback, so it wasn't fading out.

It was 'tried and was' true and was 'totally awesome too

And that's our 'Awesome History' in rhyming form for you!
